Realising Our Worth

We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same  -  Anne Frank.
______________

Happiness feels so close and yet so far away.  Perhaps we look to a person for it, or to a job, or to a new winter coat.  We deserve happiness, we know.  Yet, we learn so slowly that happiness can only be found within.  The person leaves; the job goes sour, the new coat is quickly out of style.  Elusive, all of them.

But the happiness that comes from knowing who we are and how our lives fit in the grand design of the Creator never eludes us.  We are one of a kind.  And there is no other who can offer to the world of friends just what each of us can.  We are needed, and knowing that, really knowing it, brings happiness.

We can celebrate our worth, by realizing it.  We can celebrate it now.  We can glory in our worth, our specialness, and we can cherish the design.  We can cherish our parts and cherish the part each person plays.
 ______________

Combined, we are as one big orchestra.  The conductor reads the music and directs the movements.  Being in tune with the conductor feels good.  I can call it happiness.  All I need do is play my part.

The MEANING of Great!!

Nothing great was ever created without enthusiasm -  Ralph Waldo Emerson.

'Dry' joke ?

There were two (2) muffins being baked in an oven, when all of a sudden, one muffin said "it's getting hot in here".  The other muffin replied with "oh ! (quick pause), a muffin who talks".

(That, is what I call a dry joke ! .k.)

Scenario

Be still and listen to the stillness within - Darlene Larson Jenks.

No answer eludes us if we turn to the source of all answers-the stillness within.  Prayer accompanied by meditation will always provide the answers we need for the situations facing us.  The answers we want are not guaranteed, however.  We must trust that we will be directed to take the right steps.  Our well-being is assured if we let go of being the one in control and turn our wills over to the care of God, our messenger within.

How comforting to know that all answers are as close as our quiet moments.  God never chooses to keep the answers from us.  We simply fail to quiet our thoughts long enough to heed them.  Our minds race, obsessively, all too often.  We jump from one scenario to another, one fear to another, one emotion to another.  And each time our thoughts capture a new focus, we push the answer we seek further into the background.
______________

The process is simple, if I want to follow it.  The answers await me if I truly want them.  I need only sit quietly and ask God to offer the guidance I need.  And then I will sit quietly some more.

Heartfelt

"I love God!"

God wants each one of us to be positive so that we can live our potential.k.

You Can Live Your Potential!

Actions to build positive self-talk inside your thinking brain.

Stop the negative:  Once negative self-talk is identified, learn to "park it" or stop it.  Saying, "park it," or visualising a big, red stop sign being there can halt negative thinking.

Replace with Positive:  Imagine that the mind is like a bucket and when it is filled to the top with positive thoughts, there is no room for negative self-talk.

You need to identify positive self-talk in advance and replace the negative thoughts with the previously identified positive ones.

* List five (5) positive things about you:

______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________

Tell yourself what you CAN do:  Focus on what you can do, not on what you cannot do.

Make a list of all the things you can do, e.g. ride a bike, play football, cook, etc.

Now make the list relevant to a particular part of your life, for example:

My list of what I CAN DO at work:

______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________
______________________________________________________

Don't judge yourself on whether you are perfect at the task or activity; just list what you can do.

(Paul H. Saunders - You Can Live Your Potential)

I say to myself that "it is just a thought" - and then, let that negative thought drop away (you should feel a difference).  Cheers.k.

Hi!

It's so interesting going back to from where I started this Blog.  This Blog charts my Journey, and a Journey it has been!

I refer to my older Posts and notice and remember how there was a restriction then, when only a smaller amount of Labels, as compared to now, were allowed to accompany each Post.  Change happens.

Life is.  Life continues.  We never go backwards.  We only go forwards as we learn and yearn to improve our experiential understanding of God.

There are many beautiful things this world of school offers.  Whether it's being fascinated with Nature, being able to feel; and that our lives, indeed, are an expression of our mind (as described in my Post titled Attitude).

Please feel free to "surf" this Blog and explore, even, once again, perhaps, our Journeys' together!

Be blessed; in the richness of life,
Kim.

Enthusiasm (means "in God" by Eckhart Tolle from the book titled A New Earth)

Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well - John W. Gardner

"Can the whole use the human mind to create things or bring about situations that are in alignment with its purpose?

Yes, whenever there is inspiration, which translates as
"in spirit," and enthusiasm, which means "in God,"
there is a creative empowerment that goes far beyond what
a mere person is capable of" - Eckhart Tolle.

Wholeness

The beauty of loving someone is the feeling of "wholeness" that I experience.  The need for that individual in my life, the "I'm part of you and you're part of me" feeling that connects two people and makes them necessary to each other - Kathleen Andrus.

Our Creator asks us to love one another!  Where love doesn't flow easily, perhaps we can just decide to not hurt someone.  If we each avoided hurting all people, for just one day, lives would be transformed.  We'd each see the world with a fresh perspective.

The more we love others, any others, the deeper our love will grow for all others.  Loving lifts our hearts and lightens our burdens.  Every day's tribulations can become triumphs when we carry love in our hearts.  Love fills us up, and the more we share it, the fuller we become.

We are connected-each of us to one another, all of us together.  Our contributions to the whole are necessary.  Its completion is made perfect by our presence.

______________

As I pass a friend today, I will be grateful for their contribution to my wholeness, too.

Benefit

Never turn down a job because you think it's too small; you don't know where it can lead - Julia Morgan.

How short is our vision of where an invitation might take us!  Any invitation.  Of one thing we can be certain, it offers an opportunity for making a choice, which means taking responsibility for who we're becoming.  Choice-making is growth-enhancing because it strengthens our awareness of personal power.

Our lives unfold in small measures, just as small as they need to be for our personal comfort.  It's doubtful that we would handle everything the future has in store, today; however, we will be prepared for it, measure by measure, choice by choice, day by day.  We need not fear; what is meted out to us in the invitations offered for our benefit.  We are on a pathway to betterment.

The thrill of making choices.  When we've opted for a life that's passive, all too often, we become increasingly aware of, and often depressed by, our self-imposed powerlessness.  Free at last!  We are free at last to fully participate in our lives.

______________

I will be grateful for the many options to act tugging at me today.  Every choice I make strengthens me.

Target

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence,
and I learn, whatever state I may be in,
therein to be content - Helen Keller.

There is wonder in the moment, if we but look for it, let it touch us, believe in it.  And with the recognition and celebration of the wonder comes the joy we desire and await.
Being wholly in tune with the present moment is how we'll come to know the spiritual essence that connects all of life.  We search for peace, happiness, and contentment outside of ourselves.  We need instead to discover it within us, now and always, in whatever we are experiencing.
We can let our experiences wash over us.  Longing for a different time, a distant place, a new situation breeds discontent.  It prevents us from the thrill, the gifts offered in this present moment.  But they are there.
We can practice feeling joyful in the present, be thrilled with the realization that right now, all is well.  All is always well.  Life is full of mystery and wonder and each moment of our awareness adds to the wonder.
                 ______________

I am moving forward; we all are.  I am on target.  I am participating in a glorious, wonderful drama.  Let me jump for joy.  I have been spiritually blessed.

Being Present (richness of life)

Those who do not know how to weep with their whole heart don't know how to laugh either - Golda Meir.

We all know people who live on the fringes of life.  They seem uninvolved with the activity in their midst, as though a pane of glass separated them from us.  And there are times when we join the persons standing alone away from the vibrancy of life.  Fears keep people apart, particularly the fear of letting go of the vulnerable self and joining in the feelings of the moment.

To fully reap the benefits of life, we have to risk full exposure to one another and to the experience of the moment.  Full involvement in the ebb and flow of life will bring the weeping that accompanies both the pain and the joy of life.  It will also bring the fruits of laughter.

Both laughter and weeping cleanse us.  They bring closure to an experience.  They make possible our letting go.  And we must let go of pain, as well as joy, to ready ourselves for the next blessing life offers.

When we keep ourselves apart, when we hold off the tears or the laughter, we cheat ourselves of the richness of life.  We have to go through an experience fully in order to learn all it can teach us and then be free of it.

*September 10*

"It isn't for the moment you are struck that you need courage, but for the long uphill climb back to sanity and faith and security" - Anne Morrow Lindbergh.

'Most of us are on a long uphill climb at this moment.  It is a climb we are making together, and yet a climb we can't do for each other.  I can reach out my hand to you, and you can grasp my hand in return.  But my steps are my own, just as you, too, can only take one step at a time.

For brief periods we skip, even run, along the uphill path.  The rocks and the occasional boulder momentarily trip us up.  We need patience and trust that the summit is still achievable.  We can help one another have patience.  We can remind one another to trust.

We look back at the periods that devastated us so long ago.  And now we are here.  We have climbed this far.  We are stronger, more sane, more secure.  Each step makes easier the next step - each step puts us on more solid ground.'

______________

I may run into some rocks or even a boulder today.  I have stepped around them in the past.  I will do so again.
