*** The MOMENT of PURPOSE !! ***

The future is made of the same stuff as the present - Simone Weil.

The moment is eternal.  It is unending.  ... .   We are one with all that's going on around us.  Our existence is purposeful and part of the whole creation, and we can sense our purpose.

The present guarantees we are growing even when there's pain.

Nothing is - but now.  And when we dwell on what was or what may be, we are cut off from life ... .

It's only in the present that we are invited to make our special contribution to life; perhaps at this moment our special contribution is to reach out to another person, an act that will change two lives, theirs and ours/ours and theirs.

We must cling to the present or we'll miss its invitation to grow, to help a friend perhaps.  The present holds all we ever need to fulfill our lives.  It provides every opportunity for our happiness.
 ______________

The gift of the present.  I will cherish it, be grateful (thankful), relish it !

Flowing With The Tide!

Sometimes it's worse to win a fight than to lose - Billie Holiday.

---

Bowing with the wind, flowing with the tide, eases the steps we need to take, the steps that will carry us to OUR personal fulfillment.  Part of the process of our growth is learning to slide past the negative situations that confront us, coming to understand that we are in THIS life to FULFILL a unique purpose.  The many barriers that get in our way can strengthen our reliance on God of the UNIVERSE, if we'll let them.  WE need never be thwarted by people or situations.  WE will profit from taking all experiences in our stride.  THE course we travel is the one we chart,  THE progress we make toward our life goals is proportionate to the smoothness of our steps.

I will flow with the tide.  It will assuredly move me closer to my destination.

Enthusiasm (means "in God" by Eckhart Tolle from the book titled A New Earth)

Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well - John W. Gardner
______

"Can the whole use the human mind to create things or bring about situations that are in alignment with its purpose?

Yes, whenever there is inspiration, which translates as
"in spirit," and enthusiasm, which means "in God,"
there is a creative empowerment that goes far beyond what
a mere person is capable of" - Eckhart Tolle.

~ A Purpose ?? !! ~

"The old Westminster Confessions states that God is the Originator and Executor of "Whatsoever comes to pass." We know Him to be Sovereign in that what He purposes He brings to pass.

BUT what of the CIRCUMSTANCES that arise in our lives over which we have no control, such as the loss of a job due to the economy; an accident or death casued by a drunken driver; the tearful announcement that a teenage daughter is expecting a baby or the shocking revelation that a son has been caught using drugs? HOW can God work His purpose for our good in these circumstances?

Benjamin Warfield in his Biblical Doctrines states: "In the infinite wisdom of the Lord of all the earth, each event falls with exact precision into its proper place in this unfolding of His eternal plan; nothing, however small, however strange, occurs without His ordering, or without its peculiar fitness for its place in the manifestation of His glory, and the accumulation of His praise."

His divine plan for us is "not because of anything we have done (or our circumstances) but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time" (2 Timothy 1:9).

WHEN we seek His divine purpose in all of our circumstances, we can praise Him in the valleys of despair as well as on the pleasant mountaintops." Helen Young

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)."

~ A Gift ? ! ~

Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2008 9:17 AM

Subject: What is a gift ?

Sometimes when a gift is given it's not what we would have liked even if it's been given from the heart. I have an illness called MS and for the years since receiving its diagnosis I have been in denial about its potential existence within my lifedreams. It is a reality and finally realise that time is too short to be concerned about my personal life-goals. This is where Jesus comes in. Knowing that He wants to extract the excellent-best for me and from me is an astounding revelation and part of that hurts because I feel I've had to sacrifice required elements that I've wanted to retain. What I regard as working importance in this world is not of working importance for the Lord as is but is to be refined for use according to His Holy Will, Word and ultimate Good and purpose for me. I just have to go to His Bible of Scripture to find that out!

What He requires is the best for me because I've learned that He is faithful to His promises. He is Kind, Good, Holy, pure Grace (His undeserved favour), The Creator of All things Good, Merciful, Just, Compassion, Saver in Jesus (the RIGHTEOUS Way to be Saved). I definitely thank Him for giving me more than I would ever be able to dream for myself. Instead of feeling like a Soldier who throws himself on a live grenade to take the brunt of an explosion I sort-of 'ground-hog day' go into 'auto-pilot' and reflect on comparing the TRUTH of Jesus suffering on His Self-ordained Cross for my sins. Amazing, Isn't it?? Because of His Death and Resurrection, all who accept His offer of Salvation receive Absolute forgiveness and eternal-LIFE (*John 3:16).

*Hebrews 10 in God's-breathed Bible speaks regarding the animal-offerings of the Old Testament and compares them to Jesus' death. Verse 4 states that "It is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins". Those sacrifices point us to the need for Christ's death. "Thank you God for RENEWING Your Patience and Tolerance with me EVERYDAY". It is a really TRUE Gift with His Hope of expressing the Best that LIFE can give me - "lifting the bar in my Life for Jesus"! - K. _________________________________________________________________________________________

~ God IS .. ENOUGH !!! ~

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all you need, you will abound in every good work." ( 2 CORINTHIANS 9:8)

GOD is ENOUGH. He is our all-suffcient One. He is able to make all things possible for us through His grace! The ORIGINAL word for this grace is "charis" or "free blessing." IT is spontaneous and universal. SO it is in God's adequacy that we find the provision which abounds with every blessing we need. He will keep nothing from us to fulfill His glorious purpose.

FOR what reason are these wonderful gifts supplied? "So that in all things at all times, having all you need, you will abound in every good work." Or, as one writer put it, you will have ample means in yourself to meet each and every situation with enough and more to spare for each cause!

AS we abound in all the lovely gifts of our Almighty God, there should be a natural overflow of grace from our lives. THIS overflow can touch those around us who are in need.

We need to ask God to make our service for Him more abounding. REMEMBER: He is able to equip us with the abilities to meet the task.

Daily WAIT upon Him for His grace.
Be WILLING to be emptied of your own desires and to follow His direction for your life.
Seek WISDOM from Him for each day.
Work WORTHILY of God's high calling through diligence and faithfulness.

~ God SURELY works in THIS way ! ~

I've come to the conclusion, that it's needless to continue to "push myself". I'll just blog for the enjoyment of it (took me a while to evaluate/learn that, didn't it?). Why should I pressure myself? Simple! All is good.k.

P.S. God can SURELY work in this way. WHEN one door closes another door opens!

~ * "Real" GOLD ? ! * ~

Someone has said, "Sunshine all the time only makes a desert." We need the clouds, the dark days, the storms, and the rain just as much as we need the sunshine. And God, who is molding our lives, seeking to make us like the Lord Jesus Christ, knows what is best for us.

We hear Job saying: "But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold" (Job 23:10). Notice that Job does not say, "I know the way that He takes," but rather, "He knoweth the way that I take."

We would like to know what God is doing. We would like to pull aside the veil and see the end from the beginning. We would like to know the way that He is taking. But if we did, and if we could see, we would not need faith to believe and to accept God's way!

So Job, in the midst of all his deep afflictions, found comfort, not in the fact that he knew the reason and the answer for all of God's dealing with him, but in the truth that God knew what He was doing. "He knoweth the way that I take," he said confidently, and then his faith leaped over every barrier; and as he looked into the distant future, he cried, "When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." ...

This tells us that we are to rejoice in the hope and the confidence that God's purpose is being accomplished in our lives. M.R. De Haan

~ Change of Direction ? ~

"The United States Secret Service was founded in 1865. Their mission? To deal with counterfeiters in an attempt to protect the dollar and, as a result, America's national economy. This targeted group of law enforcement officers, however, experienced a change of direction in 1902. They became best known for protecting the President of the United States, although their charge still embodies a variety of tasks.

That change of direction in the Secret Service duties is nothing compared to the completely altered lives of the believers at Thessalonica. THEY had a spiritual transformation that turned their lives around, which was noticed by people far and wide. Paul wrote, "You turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God" (* 1 Thessalonians 1:9). And "you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe... Your faith toward God has gone out" (vv. 7-8). The change of direction they displayed was dramatic, to say the least - abandoning the worship of idols to embrace relationship with the true and living God. And people noticed the difference in their lives.

I wonder - do people recognize such a profound change in our hearts and lives?" - Bill Crowder

Or if you have no goal in view,

Then honor Him in all you do. - Hess

**** ~ A Crutch ?? !! ~ ****

HAVE you ever heard skeptics say that the Christian faith is nothing more than a crutch - that the only reason people claim to trust Jesus is that they are weaklings who have to make up "religion" to get by?

Apparently those skeptics haven't heard about the doctor in one Far Eastern country who spent 2-1/2 years in jail being "re-educated" because he professed faith in Christ. THEN, after his release, he was arrested again - this time for his efforts at his church.

And perhaps those skeptics haven't heard about Paul. AFTER trusting Christ, he was arrested, flogged, mocked, and shipwrecked (2 Cor. 11: 16-29).

These believers were not looking for a crutch. No, they had something deep and essential in their hearts. They had a personal relationship with God - a relationship born of faith in the work of Jesus on the cross. As a result, they became children of the King - eager to sacrifice everything for the privilege of proclaiming Him. They were not limping along looking for something to hold them up.

A crutch? Hardly. Faith in Christ is not about safety and caution. It's about believing Jesus and trusting Him no matter what. (It's about taking up a daily cross (Luke 9:23) and living for the Savior.) - Dave Brannon.

"Take up your cross," the Savior said,
"If you would My disciple be;
Take up your cross with willing heart
And humbly follow after Me." - Everest.

"We are hard-pressed
on every side, yet not
crushed." - 2 Corinthians 4:8

(*READ: 2 Corinthians 4: 8-15)

Because Jesus bore the cross for us, we willingly (*have/been given the desire to) take it up for Him!

* ASSURANCE ... * "Read it FOR yourself" ... * 1 John 5: 1-15.

"I have written this to you ... that you may know that you have eternal life" (1 John 5: 13).

"IF we believe God's Word, then we will never doubt the reality of our Salvation". SELWYN HUGHES

"Read it for yourself!"
The story is told of a young Christian who, having accepted Christ, went home that night and before going to sleep, read these words in his Bible:
"He who has the Son has life."
"Thank you, he said, "I know I am saved because the Bible says so." In the night, the adversary came to him and said, "You are not saved. It's all a myth." Switching on the light, he opened his Bible at the verse he had read before, then putting his finger on the verse, said to the foe/devil "There it is - read it for yourself!"

*Prayer:
Lord, how foolish I have been to listen to the/my adversary's doubts. I see so clearly how THIS has caused me to lack the assurance You want me to have. NOW I rest on Your Word and believe Your eternal truth. I am Yours, dear Lord, and You are mine, for time and through eternity. Amen.

P.S: WHAT do you believe??
